Lost and damaged teeth can be very troubling conditions. They can ruin a smile and make it difficult to chew and speak. Fortunately, we can often correct these issues through the use of high-quality, natural-looking crowns and bridges.
A crown is a tooth-shaped “cap” that fits over a tooth that is damaged or on a dental implant to act as a replacement tooth. When a tooth is severely damaged, and restorations like fillings and onlays won’t work, the tooth can often be saved through the use of a crown. We recommend crowns for a variety of dental issues including:
- Protecting a damaged tooth
- Following root canal treatment
- Improving appearance and function
- Attached to an implant to replace a missing tooth
Our custom-made porcelain crowns look just like your natural teeth. Getting a crown will typically take two visits. During your first appointment, your tooth will be prepared and an impression taken. Once your permanent crown is made, you will come back in to have it placed.
If you are missing one tooth or several teeth in a row, a dental bridge is an option for replacement. These types of restorations “bridge” the gap between natural teeth. Crowns are applied to the natural teeth on either end, and the bridge is attached to these “abutment” teeth.
